Vijay Gokhale assumes charges as Foreign Secretary

Vijay Keshav Gokhale succeeds Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, as the latter completed his tenure on January 28. Gokhale earlier served as the secretary (economic relations) in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
