More than 40 languages may be heading for extinction: Officials
More than 40 languages or dialects in India are considered to be endangered and is believed to be heading towards extinction as only a few thousand people speak them. The Central Institute of Indian Languages, Mysore, has been working for protection and preservation of endangered languages.
